TSP has been in the works since late April of this year, when I agreed to sit down for an interview. Now, The Good Doctor has done interviews before, and those have gone well. But this proposal... This was an interview for a printed publication, glossy pages and all...
For Penthouse magazine.
The interviewer was Mike McPadden, who I got to know before this interview via his work on Fleshbot and Mr. Skin.com . I liked his work a lot, and I made the commitment to Mike for the interview at The Chop Shop, a very cool eatery in the Wicker Park section of Chicago.
2+ hours of conversation and many follow-up conversations later with Mike, I felt that we had a)an in-depth piece about The Good Doctor's background & the current state of adult theaters, and b) the start of a solid friendship.
The Good Doctor even provided several images of adult theaters I have shot in the last couple of years to illustrate the piece (I hope they made the final edit).
During our conversation, Mike asked me if I could recommend some people I know in this thing of ours to provide some additional color and perspective. I recommended three (actually four if you want to get picky) for Mike to interview, and boy did they deliver!
Contributing to the Penthouse piece are:
- My good friend from north of the border, gorgeous porn star Velvet Skye (who has been involved in the adult theater scene for many years).
- Another close friend of The Good Doctor, the beautiful and super hot Piper, the Gloryhole Princess (another vet of the theater and ABS scene).
- And lastly, an amazing couple who I helped mentor through their first intimidating visits to adult theaters in Ohio two years ago, and who are now rocks stars in this thing of ours in the Tampa, Florida area, senior reporters Scott & Jean.
In my opinion, this article (which I have read, and it's all sorts of fantastic) will open the eyes of many adults who may have wondered about this thing of ours, but needed that first nudge to test the waters.
Stay tuned for the publication date and support Penthouse, author Mike McPadden, and The Journal of Adult Theaters by purchasing a copy. Hell, it could be THE ideal stocking stuffer during the holidays.
Thanks to you, the good readers of The Journal, for making this your one-stop-shop for this thing of ours. Big things could be right around the corner...
